Activities Co-ordinator

 Aim of the role:

To oversee and develop the delivery of positive, meaningful and enabling activities to those affected by brain injury, within our Activity and Rehabilitation Centre (ARC). To provide support for clients with complex needs in their recovery, wellbeing, independence and autonomy.

How do we capture in a few words, the satisfaction and meaning of helping our service users overcome their personal challenges and live their best possible lives? Simply put, this is what we do at Headway Oxfordshire. We’d like to offer you the opportunity to join our amazing team, enriching your own life by supporting others to enrich theirs.

Our Activity and Rehabilitation Centre (ARC) is at the heart of our organisation. As the Activity Co-ordinator, you will be able to bring your creativity and interpersonal skills together to motivate and engage individuals in meaningful activities to support their recovery and social integration. The ARC is a vibrant and fun filled environment, where service users feel safe to be themselves and practice the skills required to further promote their long-term independence. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed person who can demonstrate a track record of effective support work and activity co-ordination with vulnerable people (both within a group setting and on a 1-1 basis). Could this person, be you? You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to organise and work to the needs of individuals in a structured way. Supervisory experience of a small team would also be beneficial, as would any knowledge or experience of working specifically with brain injury previously.
