Driving Volunteer
Do you have a couple of hours to spend volunteering as a driver at Headway Oxfordshire? We’re always looking for additional drivers to assist with transport for people affected by brain injury. Our transport is an important and invaluable service that we provide around Oxfordshire to assist those who have lack of mobility or are in rural areas to reach our Activities and Rehabilitation centre in Kennington. All of our vehicles are easy to drive and not much larger than a normal family car (or you may wish to use your own car) so no special licenses or skills (beyond a full UK driving license) are required.
You will need to consider your ability to:
– lift heavy objects, i.e. wheelchairs/walking aids, and support people with little mobility into vehicle.
– have a clean driving license
And if using your own vehicle, it must be:
– MOT’d
– Road Taxed
And you will need to undergo a DBS Check
Benefits
– Can use own vehicle or Headway Oxfordshire wheelchair accessible vehicle
– Paid mileage
– Flexible working hours
– You are providing a safe, effective, coordinated service for people who need it the most
